The Builders (Protein)

 The Builders (Protein)

Time to Build!

Your body is constantly growing. You are taller today than you were last year! How does your body do that? It uses Protein.

Protein is like the Lego bricks of your body. It builds your muscles, your skin, and even helps your blood fight off bad guys (infections).

Where to find the bricks:

  • Animals: Meat, fish, eggs, milk, yogurt, and cheese.

  • Plants: Beans, peas, nuts, and peanut butter.

Watch Out for the Grease! Some meat, like burgers or hot dogs, comes with a lot of fat. The best protein is "lean." That means it’s strong muscle meat without the heavy grease. Think of grilled chicken or fish!

πŸ₯š Fun Challenge: Try a "Plant Power" lunch! Instead of meat, try having a bean burrito or a peanut butter sandwich to get your protein bricks.
