Fuel Your Fun: Become a 5-A-Day Superhero!



Hey, awesome kids! Did you know your body is like a super-powered robot? To run, jump, play, and think at your best, it needs the right kind of fuel. And guess what? The BEST fuel comes from colorful fruits and veggies!


The coolest mission is to try and eat "5 portions" of them every day. We call it your "5-A-Day!" Don’t worry, it’s way easier than it sounds.


Your 5-A-Day can be ANY kind:

*   Fresh and crunchy (like an apple!)

*   Frozen and cool (like berries in your smoothie!)

*   Canned and handy (like peaches in a cup!)

*   Dried and chewy (like raisins!)

*   Even a yummy drink! (But more on that later.)


Super-Simple Missions to Try:



๐ŸŒž Breakfast Boost:

Make your cereal or oatmeal a rainbow! Add some banana slices or a handful of berries “power pellets.”


๐ŸŽ Snack Attack Switch:

Next time you’re hungry, be a snack hero! Grab an apple, a juicy pear, or a mini bunch of grapes instead of a cookie.


๐Ÿฅ— Lunchbox Win:

Add a sidekick to your sandwich! Pack some baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, or a small cup of applesauce.


Remember Your Portion Powers:

A portion of fresh, frozen, or canned fruit/veggies is about a handful.


A portion of dried fruit (like raisins) is a small handful—it’s sweet, so eat it with a meal.


๐Ÿฅค What About Juice & Smoothies?

One small glass (150ml) of 100% juice or a smoothie does count as 1of your 5-A-Day. But these drinks have natural sugar that can be tough on your teeth, so only 1 glass a day, max! Eating the whole fruit or veggie is always the superhero choice.
