Let's Talk Screen Time!



What is screen time? It’s all the time you spend looking at a screen, like:
  • Watching TV or videos

  • Playing video games

  • Using a tablet, phone, or computer


Why is too much screen time not so great?

Your body is made to move! The more time you spend sitting with a screen, the less time you have for fun activities like:

  • Playing basketball

  • Riding your bike

  • Swimming with friends

Plus, staring at a screen right before bed can make it hard for your brain to shut off for sleep.


So, what's a good goal?

Try to keep your fun screen time to 2 hours or less each day. (Don't worry, time on the computer for schoolwork doesn't count!)


Challenge yourself! The next time you feel bored, see if you can choose something active to do before you reach for a screen. Your body will thank you
